Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is releasing a free demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's spin-off, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, today! Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK, this demo offers a taste of the full game launching February 21st (also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, though these platforms won't receive the demo).
While progress likely won't carry over to the full game, the demo provides access to select freeroam and battle areas not available at the game's start. Explore parts of Honolulu and Madlantis, master the Mad Dog and Sea Dog fighting styles, battle powerful bounty enemies, and conquer four ship and deck battles in the Pirates' Coliseum. Enjoy new customization options and even belt out three karaoke tunes!
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, a sequel to Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (the eighth mainline entry, or ninth including Yakuza 0), follows amnesiac Goro Majima's pirate adventures in Hawaii. The October Xbox Partner Showcase trailer showcased ship combat reminiscent of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and the return of Taiga Saejima, hinting at deeper connections to the main series.
Expect a significantly longer experience than Like a Dragon: Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, with an estimated playtime of 15-18 hours. Fans can even dress Majima as Kiryu Kazuma—but only by signing up for email notifications or joining the Sega rewards program.
