Dragon Age The Veilguard game director leaves BioWare, players expect studio to shut down

Contrary to initial impressions, the success of Dragon Age: The Veilguard continues unabated. However, recent reports concerning BioWare have caused some unease.

Online speculation, originating from sources described as "agenda fighters," suggested the closure of BioWare Edmonton and the departure of The Veilguard's game director. Eurogamer journalists corroborate at least part of this, confirming the upcoming departure of Corinne Boucher in the coming weeks. Boucher, an 18-year EA veteran, has primarily worked on The Sims franchise.

Eurogamer, however, clarifies that claims regarding the closure of BioWare's Dragon Age development team remain purely speculative.

Critical reception of The Veilguard is mixed. While some hail it as a triumphant return to form, others view it as a competent, albeit unremarkable, RPG.

At the time of writing, The Veilguard boasts no negative Metacritic reviews. Many reviewers commend its dynamic and engaging action RPG gameplay, particularly at higher difficulty settings. However, this praise isn't universal. VGC, for example, criticizes the gameplay as feeling outdated and lacking innovation.
