Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4: A Console Testing Update from Toby Fox
Undertale creator Toby Fox recently provided an update on the console testing phase for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4. While significant progress has been made, with fewer bugs reported, the process is still ongoing. Fox specifically noted that PlayStation 5 testing hasn't begun yet.
Save Transfer Functionality in the Works
Beyond bug fixing, the team is actively working on implementing save transfer functionality. This means console players will be able to carry over their saves from the Chapters 1 and 2 demo to the full release of Chapters 3 and 4. This feature, recently made possible by newly acquired technology, is a significant addition. Fox expressed optimism about its successful implementation. The smooth beta testing suggests a potential release date sooner than expected. Fox previously confirmed a 2025 release window.
A Glimpse into Chapter 5? And the Mysterious Tenna
Fox shared an amusing anecdote about a minigame he's developing. His family and friends interpreted it as a cry for help due to the game's delayed release, sparking speculation that this minigame might be intended for Chapter 5 (the game is planned for seven chapters).
More intriguing is Fox's mention of a character named Tenna. A friend's comment expressing a longing for Tenna prompted Fox's confirmation that this previously unseen character (first hinted at during a 2022 Spamton Sweepstakes campaign) will appear in Chapter 3.
Deltarune, a spiritual successor to Undertale, continues the series' unique gameplay and storytelling, following Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their world-saving adventure.
