Days Gone Remastered: Enhanced PS5 Experience with New Modes and Features
Sony's State of Play in February 2025 revealed a remastered edition of Bend Studio's post-apocalyptic adventure, Days Gone, launching on PlayStation 5. This enhanced version boasts significant upgrades beyond simple graphical improvements.
Key additions include a thrilling permadeath mode, a challenging speedrun mode, and a vastly improved photo mode. Accessibility options have also received a boost. A standout feature is Horde Assault, a new arcade mode where players face even larger hordes of Freakers than in the original game.
Days Gone Remastered will be available April 25, 2025. PS4 owners can upgrade for $10. The launch trailer is embedded below.
This release represents Sony's continued effort to bring popular PS4 titles to the PS5 with enhanced features. It joins other upgraded games like The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.
PC players aren't left out. While Days Gone is already on PC, the $10 Broken Roads DLC will deliver the new modes, enhanced photo mode, DualSense support (where applicable), and improved accessibility features to that platform.
A recent PlayStation Blog post detailed further enhancements. The PS5 version is optimized for the console, offering both Performance and Quality modes. PS5 Pro users will experience even more refined visuals and audio. DualSense features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are fully utilized.
New PS5 players can purchase Days Gone Remastered for $49.99. Pre-orders begin tomorrow, offering eight PSN avatars and five early in-game unlocks as pre-order bonuses. For a complete summary of the State of Play announcements, check out our comprehensive roundup here.
