Crunchyroll's Android app now features Kardboard Kings, a captivating single-player card shop management game. Originally launched on PC in February 2022, this title from Henry's House, Oscar Brittain, and Rob Gross (published by Akupara Games) has made its way to consoles and now mobile devices via Crunchyroll. The Kardboard Kings Experience:
Step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, inheriting his card-collecting father's shop and the legacy of the legendary card game, Warlock. Your business partner? Giuseppe, a surprisingly shrewd cockatoo with a talent for deal-making. Located by the seaside, your shop demands skillful negotiation – appease customers for profit, or, if you're feeling daring, try a little deception.
The game boasts charming characters, witty dialogue, and references to other card games and anime. Over 100 unique card designs, complete with quirky illustrations and shiny variants, add to the visual appeal.
Gameplay Mechanics:
The core gameplay revolves around the classic "buy low, sell high" principle. However, as you progress, card conditions and set rarities become increasingly dynamic. Factors like foil finishes and card popularity directly influence value.
Kardboard Kings also includes a roguelite deck-building mode on Card Game Island, where you'll face challenging duelists. Organize tournaments, host booster pack parties, or clear out excess inventory with strategic sales.
