Civilization VII: A Roadmap to Global Domination
Civilization VII's launch is imminent, slated for February 11th, with early access for Deluxe and Founders Editions beginning February 6th. The game will be available across all major platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with Steam Deck compatibility confirmed. A day-one patch will ensure a smooth launch experience.
Firaxis Games and 2K have declared the game "gold," signifying the completion of primary development and eliminating further delays (barring unforeseen circumstances). This marks a significant milestone for the renowned 4X strategy series.
The first DLC, "Crossroads of the World," arrives in March, split into two releases. The initial wave introduces Great Britain and Carthage as playable civilizations, along with the historical figure Ada Lovelace as a new leader. Three weeks later, the second installment adds Simon Bolivar as a leader and Bulgaria and Nepal as new civilizations.
Further expansion is planned with "Right to Rule," a DLC scheduled for release in Q2 or Q3 2025 (April-September). This will include two additional leaders, four new civilizations, and fresh natural wonders.
March also sees the addition of in-game events and natural wonders, such as the Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest, enhancing gameplay and strategic depth. Firaxis promises ongoing improvements and new challenges throughout the game's lifecycle.
