Known Habitats: Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, Ruins of Wyveria
Breakable Parts: Tail and Forelegs
Recommended Elemental Attacks: Fire and Lightning
Effective Status Effects: Poison (2x), Sleep (2x), Paralysis (2x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (2x)
Effective Items: Flash Pod, Shock Trap, Pitfall Trap
Utilizing Flash Pods
Despite its immense size, the Doshaguma boasts surprising agility. Its leaps and dashes make it a challenging target, especially for melee fighters. A Flash Pod provides a crucial tactical advantage, temporarily blinding the Doshaguma and creating an opening for attacks or even a mount opportunity.
Strategic Targeting: Legs and Head
Prioritize attacks on the Doshaguma's forelegs, boasting a 3-star weakness, for maximum damage output. While the hind legs have a 2-star weakness, they're a less effective target. The head also presents a 3-star weakness, making it another prime area to focus your attacks. Breaking the tail, though yielding less damage, provides valuable monster parts.
Elemental Advantage: Fire and Lightning
Maximize your damage output by utilizing fire and lightning attacks. Bowgun users should equip Flaming and Thunder ammo. For melee weapons, consider equipping decorations that enhance fire skills. Fire attacks are most effective on the head and torso, while lightning strikes are best concentrated on the head.
Countering Blastblight
The Doshaguma’s attacks can inflict Blastblight, a status ailment that causes an explosion if the gauge fills or you receive a heavy hit. Counter this by using Nulberries or Deodorant, or by performing up to three dodge rolls to clear the effect.
Environmental Traps
Don't overlook the environment. Doshaguma's habitat often contains natural traps. Remember to sheath your weapon before using your slinger, and ensure the monster is directly above the trap before activating it.

Capturing the Doshaguma

For a different challenge, attempt to capture the Doshaguma alive. Reduce its HP to 20% or less, then strategically place a Shock or Pitfall Trap. Lure the Doshaguma onto the trap using Luring Ammo or meat. Once trapped, use tranquilizer ammo to subdue it (multiple shots may be necessary).
Remember to enjoy a hearty meal before the hunt for beneficial food buffs. Good luck, hunter!
