Capcom's Recent Spotlight Unveils Exciting Game Updates
Capcom recently held a Spotlight and Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, revealing significant updates for several titles. Key announcements include new details for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a remastered Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, a release date for Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and extensive information on Monster Hunter Wilds.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword – A 2026 Release
Set in the Edo period, this new Onimusha entry features a new protagonist wielding an Oni Gauntlet to combat Genma. Development prioritizes compelling characters, engaging enemies, and a historically accurate recreation of Kyoto. The gameplay aims for challenging yet accessible sword combat.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny – Remastered in 2025
A remastered version of the 2002 classic is slated for release in 2025, bridging the gap until Onimusha: Way of the Sword's arrival.
Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 Details
The second Open Beta test introduces the flagship monster, Arkveld, in a challenging new quest. Other additions include a Gypceros hunt, a training area, and online features like Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode. Data from the first beta will transfer, and the Character Creator, Story Trial, and Doshaguma hunt return. Cross-play will be enabled.

- February 13, 7 PM PT – February 16, 6:59 PM PT
While character data transfers, progress does not carry over to the full game. Participants receive a special Pendant.
Monster Hunter Wilds – Iceshard Cliffs and New Monsters
The showcase featured a new story trailer highlighting the Iceshard Cliffs and its inhabitants: Rove (Wudwud), Hirabami – Leviathan, Nerscylla – Temnoceran, and Gore Magala. Further details on Arkveld were also revealed. Release date: February 28.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 – May 16 Release
Launching May 16, 2025, this collection includes Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Project Justice, and Plasma Sword: Night of Bilstein.
Street Fighter 6 – Mai Shiranui Arrives February 5
Fatal Fury's Mai Shiranui joins the roster on February 5, preceding the final Year 2 character, Elena.
