Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that encourage players to compete for the fastest clear times. In anticipation of this update, Capcom has issued a strong warning to the community about the consequences of cheating and using external tools to manipulate rankings.
In a recent post on the Monster Hunter X/Twitter account, Capcom emphasized their commitment to maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming environment. They stated, "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests." This clear message underscores Capcom's zero-tolerance policy towards cheating.
Moreover, Capcom highlighted that players who join multiplayer hunts with cheaters risk having their quest completion times invalidated and their rewards revoked. They advised, "Please take caution to avoid playing multiplayer with those who are engaging in prohibited activity, or those you suspect of such." Players are encouraged to report any instances of cheating they encounter during quests.
The new quests will offer appealing rewards in the form of cosmetic pendants, some of which will be awarded to all participants, while others will be based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. Given the stakes, Capcom's strict stance on cheating is understandable, as it aims to preserve the integrity of the competition and the fairness of the reward system.
The Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter located in the Grand Hub in Suja. To participate, players must first complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub. Be sure to head there as soon as Title Update 1 goes live tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
