Neowiz and Gamfs N have released the first content update for BrownDust2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed "Onsen Training," this update brings a fiery new adventure to the game.
The Onsen Training event transports players to a Japanese winter hot spring, where swordplay and unique BrownDust2 challenges await, punctuated by some unexpected monkey business.
BrownDust2's Onsen Training: A Deep Dive
This update introduces three new characters: Ventana, the event's protagonist, and Liberta, both obtainable through the in-game draw; and Blade, a narrative-exclusive character.
The Onsen Training story unfolds within the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden's Gate, featuring 30 battles across 15 normal and 15 challenge modes. The adventure begins with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, seeking to regain her honor after a defeat. Her training at a snowy mountain hot spring is disrupted by mischievous monkeys.
Rescued by Blade, a legendary Kendo Club alumnus, Ventana's training request is initially refused. Liberta, the hot spring manager, intervenes, promising to help Ventana secure Blade's tutelage.
A New Mini-Game Joins the Fray
"Onsen Tile Tactics," a time-limited tile-clearing mini-game, adds another layer of gameplay. The event story is divided into phases: "Legendary Graduate" (week one), culminating in "Beyond Legend" (week three).
Players will face returning and new bosses. Giant Rou returns in week one, while week three introduces the Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a powerful monkey whose strength increases when targeting enemies with DoT effects. Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut as a Guild Raid boss, posing a significant challenge due to its devastating attacks and high chain stack requirement.
New equipment and costumes are also available. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume until February 13th.
Download BrownDust2 from the Google Play Store and join Ventana on her Onsen Training adventure.
