Blizzard's Overwatch 2 is again embroiled in controversy. A new Lucio skin, the Cyber DJ, initially priced at $19.99, was unexpectedly offered for free a day later.

The skin appeared in the in-game store, only to be revealed as a free reward for watching a one-hour Twitch stream on February 12th promoting future Overwatch 2 content. This angered many players who purchased the skin before the announcement.

This isn't the first instance of Blizzard selling cosmetic items and later offering them for free. Players are demanding refunds, citing unfair practices. While the Cyber DJ skin has been removed from the store, Blizzard hasn't addressed refund requests.

Facing stiff competition, particularly from the successful Marvel Rivals, Blizzard announced a special Overwatch 2 Spotlight event on February 12th to showcase significant gameplay changes. This event will unveil new maps, heroes, and other content, with prominent streamers invited to Blizzard headquarters for an exclusive preview.
