Treyarch Unveils "The Tomb," a New Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, in 115 Day Celebration
Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the highly anticipated reveal of a new map: The Tomb. This annual January 15th event brings a comprehensive blog post detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises.
The Tomb, a desert-themed map, will launch with Season 2 on January 28th, adding to the Zombies universe following Season 1's Citadelle des Morts.
Treyarch's narrative summary explains that after the events of Citadelle des Morts, the characters Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya follow Gabriel Krafft's clues to an excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. The catacombs, situated on ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., remained undisturbed until the early 1900s, hinting at a deeper mystery.
The Tomb's gameplay is described as similar to Liberty Falls, emphasizing tight spaces and high replayability through hidden Easter eggs. The map's connection to British archeologist Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe is teased, but details remain scarce.
Season 2 also includes a reimagined Wonder Weapon, inspired by previous entries, and the return of a classic SMG. Further details on these are yet to be revealed.
Significant quality-of-life improvements are promised, including community-requested features such as tracking up to 10 Calling Card and Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer modes. A co-op pause option for Zombies, allowing the party leader to pause mid-game, is also added. Treyarch also shared statistics on Directed Mode, revealing over 480 million hours played, with the average Main Quest completion rate more than doubling since its launch.
