The game unfolds on a Jupiter space station, a bizarre marketplace shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Orangutans with surprising wit work the docks, and cultists barter flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the uncanny ability to create universes from her hand.
Beginning in a mining colony's shantytown, you play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment. Exploring the ramshackle colony, you eventually discover Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop, where a captivating mystery unfolds as you switch between Lila's and the Master's perspectives.
Playing as Lila involves a universe-creation minigame, mixing ingredients to produce stunning visual worlds. As the Master, you delve into the Cult of Detachment's philosophies and encounter the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative gradually reveals itself, prompting players to theorize about the overarching plot. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world encourages thorough exploration.
