The object of the game is to survive…

When you first land on your plot in *Build Defense*, it's easy to think that your primary goal is to fortify this space. However, the true objective is **to survive**, or more simply, **not to die**. The game will challenge you with various threats, and your mission is to outlast them. Ideally, you'll want to build a defensive structure on your plot to weather these storms. However, if you're in a pinch, you can also **run around the map** until the danger subsides (a tactic we've successfully used). Each time you survive an encounter, you earn a "Win" along with some in-game currency. **Collecting Wins** is crucial for progressing in the game. So, keep an eye on the screen messages and focus on staying alive.

… dying is completely normal

**Don't be discouraged if you die**. Death is a common occurrence in *Build Defense* and comes with minimal consequences. Upon dying, you'll respawn instantly, lose your current items, and fail the ongoing wave, but these setbacks are manageable. You can **repurchase your lost weapons and items**, and rest assured, your structures remain intact as they cannot be destroyed by monsters or disasters. New waves of attacks come every two minutes, giving you plenty of opportunities to redeem yourself. Essentially, **you're only losing a bit of time**—not a big deal at all.

Build high, not low

Initially, constructing a wall around your plot might seem like a solid defense strategy, but it's not very effective. Monsters can exploit any entry or exit points you create. A more effective approach is to **build a tall staircase leading to a high platform**. When night falls, climb to the top and wait out the threats. Monsters attempting to ascend these steep stairs are likely to fall, and those who reach the top can be met with a welcoming committee of **turrets**. This strategy will help you survive most nights with ease.

Don’t just build, explore!

Beyond your plot, *Build Defense* offers a rich world to explore. You can visit other players' bases, trade ores, and embark on **quests**. While many quests require a certain number of Wins to unlock, some, like the **Gingerbread's House quest**, are available from the start. Completing these quests can unlock new building components, enhancing your construction options.

The “Shop” isn’t just for premium items

As you advance in the game, don't overlook the Shop. Most items there can be purchased using **in-game currency**, but you'll need to accumulate some Wins first.
