Midjiwan has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia, completely revamping the Aquarion Tribe. This significant rework breathes new life into the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion units have received a dramatic makeover. Their land units now sport mermaid tails, making them amphibious or fully aquatic. This allows them to traverse water effortlessly, although their movement on land is slower. The update also introduces flooded terrain, a first for the game, allowing land and naval units to occupy the same spaces.
The Aquarion's aquatic theme extends to their buildings. Structures can now be built directly on water, and Lost Cities are now discovered within deep-sea ruins, creating ideal aquatic bases. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops, a permanent addition to the Aquarion's arsenal, function similarly to land-based crops.
New aquatic creatures join the fray, adding exciting new strategic elements. Sharks provide surprise attacks, Puffers offer long-range bombardment, and Jellies unleash electric shocks on enemies. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also make an appearance, with Crabs now flooding the tiles they cross, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops. Intrigued?
