Ubisoft has officially announced the global release times for the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In a departure from the series' previous releases and typical Ubisoft strategy, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will launch globally at the same time without any early access options for additional payment.
On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available at 12am local time on March 20. However, PC players should note that the release times vary depending on the platform. For those purchasing through Steam, the game will launch at different times across the globe, starting from 9pm PDT on March 19 in Los Angeles to 3pm AEDT on March 20 in Sydney. On the other hand, those using Ubisoft’s own platform, Ubi Connect, will see the game go live from 9pm PDT on March 19 in Los Angeles to 11pm AEDT on March 19 in Sydney.
Pre-loading is already available for Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC, ensuring fans can dive straight into the action as soon as the game becomes available.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows faces significant expectations from Ubisoft, especially following delays and the underwhelming sales of last year's Star Wars Outlaws. The company has been grappling with several challenges, including high-profile game flops, layoffs, studio closures, and cancellations leading up to this release.IGN's review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows awarded it an impressive 8/10, praising the game for refining its established systems and delivering one of the best iterations of the open-world style the series has developed over the past decade.
