Apex Legends First ALGS in Asia Goes to Japan

Apex Legends ALGS Year 4 Championships Headed to Sapporo, Japan

The Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 4 Championships will be held in Sapporo, Japan, from January 29th to February 2nd, 2025. This marks the first time an ALGS offline tournament will be held in Asia, a significant milestone for the competitive Apex Legends scene. Forty elite teams will compete at the Daiwa House PREMIST DOME for the championship title.

Previously, ALGS offline events have been hosted in the US, UK, Sweden, and Germany. EA highlighted the strong Japanese Apex Legends community and the numerous requests for a local tournament as key factors in the decision. John Nelson, EA's senior director of Esports, expressed excitement about celebrating this milestone in Sapporo.

In the lead-up to the Championships, the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) will run from September 13th to 15th, 2024. This provides teams a final shot at qualifying for the main event. Fans can watch the LCQ broadcast on the official @PlayApex Twitch channel to see which teams secure their spots in the finals.
