High-end prebuilt PCs often come with a hefty price tag, but savvy shoppers can still save hundreds of dollars by snagging a great deal. Currently, Dell is offering an incredible discount on the Alienware Aurora R16 equipped with a GeForce RTX 4090, now available for just $2,899.99 after a $1,000 instant discount. This marks the first time in months that an RTX 4090 gaming PC has been priced under $3,000. With standalone RTX 4090 graphics cards seeing price increases and costing upwards of $2,000 from reputable vendors, building your own PC might not be as cost-effective as you'd think. Plus, opting for a prebuilt PC like this one comes with the added benefit of an all-inclusive warranty.

$3,699.99 save 22% $2,899.99 at Alienware
This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC packs a punch with its Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a spacious 2TB NVMe SSD. The 14th gen Intel Core i9-14900KF is currently the top Intel gaming CPU on the market, excelling not just in gaming but also in productivity tasks. While this chip is known for running hot, it's effectively managed by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The system is powered by a reliable 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.
The RTX 4090 stands as the most powerful GPU available today, outclassing all competition from both NVIDIA and AMD. In his review, Chris Coke remarked, "The RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." With this GPU, you can run any game at 4K resolution with ultra settings and ray tracing enabled, delivering high framerates even on the most demanding new titles like Black Myth: Wukong or Warhammer Space Marine 2. It's also the go-to consumer card for AI applications, thanks to its 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM.
A Note on RTX 5000 Series GPUs
NVIDIA's next generation of GPUs, starting with the RTX 5090, is set to launch by the end of January. While the RTX 5090 will undoubtedly be more powerful, it comes with a steep price tag of $2,000 for the Founder's Edition, and availability might be limited. The RTX 5080 is expected to retail at $999, but it too may face supply constraints. We'll soon have benchmarks for these cards, but it's worth noting that the RTX 5080 will feature less VRAM (16GB) compared to the RTX 4090's 24GB, and it likely won't dethrone the 4090 as the top performer.
A Note on Alienware's Newest "R16" Desktop Chassis
The R16 represents Alienware's 2024 desktop PC design, boasting a 40% smaller volume than its predecessors. It features a proven airflow pattern, drawing air in through side intake vents over the GPU area and a 120mm front fan, and exhausting it via a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. The 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to these top fans. While some configurations skip the liquid cooling, we highly recommend it over Alienware's stock air cooling due to its superior performance. It's worth the extra cost. Also, note that Dell unveiled a new Area 51 chassis at CES 2025, but it closely resembles the R16 in both appearance and design.
