Fans of the time-twisting RPG Reverse: 1999 have a lot to look forward to with an upcoming livestream scheduled for April 18th. This event will not only offer a first glimpse at the content for the upcoming version 2.5, titled 'Showdown in Chinatown,' but also unveil details about the game's 1.5th anniversary celebrations.
The livestream promises to be engaging and entertaining, hosted in-character by Captain Regulus alongside the new character, Officer Liang Yue, both in chibi form. Viewers can anticipate exciting giveaways, including codes, and a chance to win a Nintendo Switch 2 through a competition.
While much of the content for version 2.5 has already been revealed to Chinese players, 'Showdown in Chinatown' is set to pay homage to Hong Kong martial arts movies, featuring a dramatic crime thriller narrative centered around capturing an arcanist vigilante.
In terms of characters, Officer Liang Yue, who utilizes various martial arts moves, will be infiltrating the movie set of another new character, Noire. Noire, a wheelchair-bound perfectionist director, uses her unique ability to puppeteer her ideal actors against enemies. Additionally, Loggerhead, a character with a camera for a head, is also set to appear.
While the specifics of what international versions of Reverse: 1999 will receive from version 2.5 will be clarified during the livestream, fans can expect plenty of nods to the iconic works of the Shaw Brothers and John Woo.
