High-Quality Implementation of the Popular Card Game Durak (Fool)

The card game "Durak" ("Fool", "Dumb") is renowned as one of the most popular and widespread card games in the former Soviet Union. This high-quality implementation allows you to play "Durak" ("Fool") offline, without an internet connection, using a deck of 24, 36, or 52 cards.

"Durak" ("Fool") comes in two main variants: "Fool Flip" (Durak Podkidnoy) and "Fool Transferable" (Durak Perevodnoy). While the rules share some similarities, each variant has its unique nuances.

The primary goal of the game is to get rid of your cards as quickly as possible. The first player to do so emerges as the winner, while the last player left holding cards is dubbed the "fool" (durak).

Flip Fool (Durak Podkidnoy) is the classic version of the game. Here, if the attacker cannot throw a card to the defending player, the next player to the defender's left takes over. They can only throw one card at a time. Once it's beaten, the right to throw returns to the original attacker. If the player to the left of the defender has no cards to throw, the opportunity passes to the next player in a clockwise direction. This allows all players to participate in throwing cards, but in turns, hence the name "Flip Fool" (Durak Podkidnoy).

Transferable Fool (Durak Perevodnoy) adds an exciting twist to the rules. Starting from the second move, the defending player can "transfer" a thrown card by placing a card of the same rank but in a different suit on the table. This shifts the defense to the next player in a clockwise direction, who can also "transfer" the card to the next player, and so on. This variant is aptly named "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy).

Features of the Game Implementation:

  • Offline Play: Enjoy the game without an internet connection.
  • Stunning Graphics: A wide range of "tables," "cards," and "shirts," including "satin cards," for a visually pleasing experience.
  • Card Sorting Options: Multiple ways to organize your cards for strategic play.
  • Card Illumination: Highlight your cards for easier gameplay (can be turned off).
  • Deck Sizes: Choose from 24, 36, or 52 card decks.
  • Classic Rules: Play with the traditional rules of "Flip" (Podkidnoy) and "Transfer" (Perevodnoy) Fool (Durak).
  • Basic Mode: For a more focused game, play only against your neighbor on the left, with no additional attackers.
  • First Hand Limit: No more than 5 cards can be thrown on the first hand.
  • Transferable Fool Rules: In "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy), you cannot "transfer" on the first hand. If you have a trump card of the same rank as the one you were dealt and prefer to cover rather than transfer, simply drag your card over the card you wish to cover.
