Scanwords in Russian are undoubtedly a unique phenomenon worldwide. No other language features such a rich array of literary questions, humorous queries, and questions reflecting current global events—all within the framework of traditional crosswords. It might seem trivial, but to the Russian people, words are treasured. They cherish, honor, and value words as their most precious asset.
Our application offers a diverse range of scanwords, from simpler to more challenging ones, including those with photographs, classic questions, or associative prompts like "one word" or "one word, two words," reminiscent of Elder Fur's tips. Each magazine includes an English-Russian scanword and a "holey" one; you'll soon discover the reason behind this name. Every page features a character from our cheerful family, so come and join us!
All scanwords are free for our readers. This annual collection comprises 52-53 issues, each containing 20 scanwords. The complete yearly set will occupy approximately 50 MB on your device, as the images are small and the text is just text. We respect your device's storage space.
You don't need an internet connection to solve the puzzles once the scanwords are downloaded to your phone. A new magazine issue is released every Friday. If you've kept notifications enabled, you'll receive a reminder every Friday at 12:00 local time about the new issue. Upon opening the app, the new issue will download automatically and won't repeat if the download is successful. Additionally, you can download or delete individual magazines to your phone or use the "Settings" option to download all magazines with one click.
The core features, including access to all scanwords, are free for users. The costs are covered by advertisers, who are allowed a single narrow banner on each page and one interstitial ad before opening a scanword. Our advertisers do not interrupt the solving process and even reward readers with free hints for watching their videos.
Readers have the option, but not the obligation, to interact with advertisers by: a) permanently disabling ads, b) subscribing to remove ads and gain unlimited hints for the subscription period, or c) collecting hints in bulk. These options are clearly displayed in the "Shop."
